Health Reform and The Missing One Trillion

Health insurance reform, the big issue of the day, is slated to cost over one trillion dollars (to provide coverage for more Americans and address many of the problems inherent in the current system). Where is that money coming from—are we setting ourselves up for higher taxes merely to save pennies on health insurance?

Right now, one of the biggest issues in health care is the amount of money spent on insurance company subsidies. One of the plans being discussed presently would save 7 billion in these subsidies over the next decade. The argument being advanced is that by cutting and reducing these subsidies, money could be better spent on actual care for patients.

Speaking against the billion dollar per page, trillion dollar healthcare legislation which Speaker Pelosi will be bringing to the House floor for a vote.

For real, I am curious, after “Health Care Reform” what is the next trillion dollar project going to be? We already have 2 trillion dollar projects passed in less than 6 months. At this rate we have to spend another 2 trillion by the end of January. Every single solitary proposal the democrats have come up with since Obama has been in office includes raising taxes in some way shape or form. I don’t think democrats understand that there is a limited supply of money and that the more you raise taxes the less people will have to support themselves.

So what is the next trillion dollar project going to be?
