Medical Fraud: I’m Nervous About MEPS..Advice?
Question by : I’m nervous about MEPS..Advice?
Ok so I’m going to list all my dispositions and tell me if you think I wont get disqualified for the NAVY..
I had four parking tickets… ALL PAID…
Progressive car insurance filed a lawsuit against claiming “fraud” so they wont pay for my therapy after my car accident… i was fine but i faked it…so i just let the time, to respond to the summons, run out so i could get default judgement and just pay it off when I get to the Navy
I got X rays and Mri’s on my knees and my back… they didnt find anything except a discoid meniscus and scarring on my patella…. nothing that prevents me from walking but on my medical sheet I didnt put that down….
Your Opinion as to Why Insurance Costs (Medical) Are So High? What Do You Think Can Be Done?
I’ve worked in insurance & the medical field & the fraud that goes on is a huge cause of high ins costs. More should be done to crack down on the people & institutions committing the fraud.
In the hospital I worked at, during a surgery case you maybe used two strips of elastoplast to hold a dressing on. The patient is charged for the whole role. This was also the case with regular tape.
My friend had a C-section & had to pay it all for lack of ins. She went over the bill & got $700 taken off it. They had charged her for a certain medication 3 x a day & she only took 2 pills. They charged her for sitz baths for her episiotomy, which she never had because she had a c-section. She found a few other discrepancies also. If you don’t see your bill, your ins co may be being charged for things you didn’t even receive.

Medical Insurance Fraud Against Me ! Do I Need a Lawyer ?
Ok, here is the situation, last year I had an issue with my throat and I called my insurance company for assistance on what to do; they send me to a doctor whom after examination performed surgery and, then I had a post visit (so 3 visits in total).
Ok, here is the kicker; now it’s been over a year and I am getting charges from the hospital because they got tired of waiting for payments from them. It turns out that they send me to an out of network doctor and that they are not going to pay. So after I called them they told me that the would only listen if I appealed on a letter and I did but they still refused to pay because now it’s been over a year and they have nothing to do with this.
Medical Billing Fraud or Liability?
I recently had surgery and my surgeon’s office told me the procedure would include about $5,275 for the hospital and anesthesia. When I got the bill it was $13,000, and now the surgeon’s office is saying, “sorry, that’s the estimate they gave us”. Is there any recourse I have here? Has anyone experienced something similar?
