Question by Lance: What are the major hidden items, loopholes, and drawbacks of the “Climate and Energy Bill”?
I’ve heard a lot of rumors, but I don’t really know. It just seems like this is the latest bill that everyone from Congress is getting pressure from Obama to pass without spending time to read first. I have heard that hydroelectric is excluded as a renewable energy source, people will perform “energy audits” on homes-hello 1984, jobs could move offshore due to the restrictions, and this will be another tax on people–except that credits will be given to low income consumers. With this, the healthcare bill, and other proposals, when do we run out of other people’s money to pay for this stuff? Does the bill really protect the environment?

The Obama administration made it a point to require medical insurance companies to provide health care coverage to children without imposing any limitations or exclusions. This is a notable feature of the amended health care laws.Medical insurance companies complied with the new legislation, and the government was satisfied. About four months into the implementation of the new rules, however, insurers found a loophole.

Without any form of limitation or restriction, parents can choose to buy insurance only when their children become ill, and insurance companies would then have to pay up immediately. Conceding to insurers’ point, the government updated the law to allow insurance companies to impose a specific enrollment periods for minors (anyone under 19 years of age) in an individual or family health insurance policy. This means that, parents can buy insurance for their children only during specific dates in a year.This issue shows that the new legislation still has some kinks that need to be worked out as its implementation proceeds over the next few years.

Question by _______: Do you think this Senate healthcare bill is a “trough of bribes, deals, and loopholes”?
Also, why is Schwarzenegger saying this will hurt California’s state budget??

If it would be a “disaster for California”, would it be any different for other states facing budget crises??

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger savaged congressional plans for health reform in his 2010 State of the State address on Wednesday, calling the legislation “health care to nowhere” that’s infected with “bribes, deals and loopholes.”

With the nation’s largest state enduring a fiscal crisis, Schwarzenegger said California’s lawmakers should vote against the bill or push to get the Medicaid subsidies that were written into the Senate bill in order to secure Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) as the 60th and passing vote for that chamber’s version of reform. The deal has been attacked as the “Cornhusker Kickback.”

Question by _______: Should “news” networks be investigating loopholes in healthcare bill or debating another Wilson apology?
I’ve noticed that CNN (Lou Dobbs specifically) is attempting to give the full story on the “you lie” comment. (Dems are technically correct in what the bill SAYS, but no enforcement measures exist to enforce that language)

Vs.

MSNBC who thinks Wilson is a blatant liar. Their only debate is whether or not the House should censure Wilson if he doesn’t apologize to the house.
To clarify: Technically Obama didn’t lie. But Democrats also voted down two motions to include amendments that would require citizenship verification.
