Don’t People Realize That Obamacare Will Hurt Businesses and Lead to Employee Layoffs ?
Question by Klaatu barada nikto: Don’t people realize that Obamacare will hurt businesses and lead to employee layoffs ?
Don’t people realize that Obamacare will hurt both small buinesses + large businesses because businesses pay a portion of their employee’s health insurance premiums in their ” company group policy ” and increased requirements imposed by Obamacare on health insurance will undoubtedly lead to higher premiums for both employees & employers ?
This, in turn, will impact negatively upon small businesses requiring them to cut their costs by laying off employees to make up for the increased health insurance premiums they will be paying for the remaining employees ?
LH – That still won’r cut it. I’m certain that BO’s increased corporate taxes will more than offset any petty tax rebate much less increased health insurance premiums
That’s like Obama stealing 500 Billion Dollars from Medicare and then giving Social Security Recipients a one time $ 250 check in lieu of an cost of living increase
Iowa State Employees: Layoffs, Cuts Predicted
Iowa state employees: Layoffs, cuts predicted
The Iowa Legislature won’t tamper with health care benefits for state workers in the 2010 session, but lawmakers say they intend to cut spending in all departments.
“I think everybody is going to see a cut. Everybody,” said Sen. Mike Gronstal, a top Democrat in the Democrat-controlled Legislature.
“I think you’ll see layoffs,” he said. “I think you’ll see … early retirements, so I think you’ll see fewer state employees. We’ll try to do it through attrition.”
Asked if government needs to be smaller beyond this year’s layoffs, Sen. Paul McKinley, the Republican leader in the Iowa Senate, said: “Yes. I see the state government growing like crazy,” he said. The signature legislation of the session, which begins Jan. 11, is likely to be reorganization of state government, four Democratic leaders told Des Moines Register editors and reporters on Tuesday.

Good News, Bad News: Budget Brings Government Layoffs, Health Spending
VICTORIA – The Campbell government brought in a budget today that will spend more on health and education but won’t hit you with any tax increases. To do that there will be spending cuts elsewhere, and you will pay more for health with a hike in medical premiums. Most of the medical money will come from the dreaded HST which kicks in July first. And in the midst of the post-Olympics buzz the province is restoring some of the cuts to sports and the arts. But there will be government jobs lost, and we are years away from getting out of the red. The BC government will spend 0 million on public education, and another billion on health services. In an attempt to make the looming HST seem like good medicine, money earned from that hated tax will go only to health care. And against all that – the government says it will find a way to re-balance its books by the 2013 fiscal year. Critics say the new spending, minus the cuts; don’t add up to enough relief for British Columbians or enough attention on their priorities.

Can I Have Two Health Insurance Policies From Different States?
Before you answer, please read this thoroughly. I am a student and Illinois Resident. I have PPO health insurance in Illinois that I pay out of pocket for. $1000 deductible, 100% covered. I go to school in Florida and have employer insurance in FL (ever since Sept 2008), but it’s an HMO. The PPO my job offers has no deductible but is 80/20 coverage, so I opted the HMO.
