Question by JRobbs: System Security virus taking over my laptop. PLEASE HELP!?
Basically it posed as a virus scanner program that said I had certain viruses and I didn’t. I opened it and let it scan and, after some research, I realized what it was. I’ve tried ctrl+alt+del and deleted the processes, deleting it from add/remove programs, deleted the folder and it’s STILL there. Every website I search says that I need to download Malwarebytes but unfortunately I can’t do that because I can’t open the internet whatsoever. I can’t even put my laptop in safe mode (F8). When I restart my laptop, after about 20 mins of popups about antivirus software invading my computer’s documents, the screen either goes blue and says things like “error detected” and “if you’ve seen the screen more than once contact your service provider” etc. When I restarted a message flooded my screen talkng about how I had a virus and it would take personal information blah blah… I’m freaking out because my mother uses this laptop to pay bills and stuff. I deleted all cookies just to be safe but I have no idea how to remove this things and won’t sleep until I do. PLEASE help I’m desperate. Thanks in advance.
I put it in safe mode but I can’t access the internet to download malwarebytes, as I explained before. I’m on my phone right now. Thanks anyway.
What NO ONE seems to understand is that I CANNOT ACCESS THE INTERNET AT ALL ON MY LAPTOP. Therefore, there is absolutely NO WAY for me to download ANYTHING. Even if I could I can’t open anything AT ALL. Please someone understand that and help me. I am slowly but surely losing my freaking mind. Once again, I CANNOT open anything. I can’t even do a system restore. Nothing. I can’t open task manager either because the virus closes.
Okay, I’ll try to upload it to a flash drive and make sure to rename it. Thanks a lot! I’ll post on the results tomorrow.
Excuse my tone of voice, I’m just really losing it because it seems as though there’s no way out of this and my mother’s personal documents and work files are on this laptop and I can’t access anything whatsoever. I can’t even fall asleep because I’m so angry. Thanks for your suggestions and time, I really really do appreciate it.
