Are Obama and the Hard-Left Democrats in Congress Harming the Economy on Purpose?

Question by Lady Wildcat: Are Obama and the hard-left Democrats in Congress harming the economy on purpose?
The best way to “sell” socialist policies in general (particularly, nationalized health care) is to increase the number of people who would need them, and who would be dependent on them.

And, obviously, having a robust economy with low unemployment is not the climate in which these socialist policies can be “sold.”

So, wouldn’t it be easier for Obama and the Democrats to “sell” their socialist domestic agenda items (such as “health care reform”) by making sure that the number of needy people (the number of unemployed people) is INCREASED?

It seems that, in the supposed name of “improving the economy,” they are implementing policies that are having the exact opposite effect. It really seems they are doing it deliberately.

Q&A: Obama Aside, Is the Economy Recovering?

Question by The Amazing LAUGHING Binky: Obama aside, is the Economy recovering?
We Republican Economists know that the Economy is like an Ocean, and the “Policies” of a president cant change it. However, Obama is -Damn sure- trying his Hardest to Pour Water on the Flames of Recovery, with the Out-of-control Spending he is as addicted to as smoking. (Nobody’s word matters. Hes Obama. Look at Healthcare. Narcissism.)

Thank God we have Republicans to Block, Fight, Resist, Contradict, and Undo his Amazing Disregard for America. (Yes, it is all him. Youl be saying “Give him a Chance” 3 and a half years in, and well be on Bailout Part 10.. Part 4 for now.. only Bush’s to the Banks “Worked,” but resulted in Higher Fees to pay for it. SOME banks didnt need it.)

So, anyways.. Is this still a -Jobless Recovery- since Obama likes Unemployment TWICE AS HIGH as BUSH, while still De-Riding Bush for all HIS Incompetencies?

Global Energy and the Economy

Global Energy and the Economy

Rates and tariffs for domestic energy supply are directly related to the cost of wholesale gas and electricity on the global market. When domestic utility suppliers buy energy on the global market at wholesale prices and when those prices go up, your domestic utility tariffs reflect this. Wholesale gas and electricity prices peak and trough according to supply and demand so when production is low and demand is high, the price of wholesale gas and electricity will inevitably be at a premium. The trickle-down effect of this is higher bills for homeowners.

One key reason for recent increasing demand on the global wholesale market is the growth in demand for energy from developing nations, such as China and India. As their industrial domesticity evolves, so too does their need for fuel. When global reserves and production cannot accommodate this increase in demand, wholesale costs escalate as energy suppliers outbid one another on limited resources.
