Question by MOAR RAGE: Can i learn to love as a sociopath?
I have recently discovered i am a sociopath, i am not proud of the actions that led to my discovery of this however i shall be honest in hopes of attaining some closure, i basically (only minor really but ah well…) stole some dvds from a good friend of mine and he got arsey rang the police yada yada yada cutting a long story short ive know this guy for years and years and he lives in a house share with a forensic psychologist “J” who after hearing what he said to her about myself said “he sounds like a sociopath to me” after my friend “L” told me this, now this was only a year or so ago and it was the first time id ever even heard the word in my 21 years on this earth after reading into it i believe the evidence is undeniable, ive attended funerals of family members and felt nothing to the point where i have had to act like im upset because i know that it is the appropriate response for that situation, does this make me a bad person even though it is against my will? everything i have read on the internet about sociopaths seems to apply to me accept for one thing, ive never been able to verbally/ physically bully someone who has never done me any harm, i could steal from this person without feeling a shred of guilt but ive never been able to verbally/ physically assault anyone in my life i think this may be due to the fact that i was bullied alot in primary school between the ages of 5 and 11, once i went to high school this changed my personality floruished and i found that i could pretty much work everything and everyone around me to my advantage but ever for personal gain ive always used my “ability” to gain (a kind of ridiculously huge to be honest) social circle. either way it is actually the “incapable of love” comments all over the internet that have been playing on my mind ever since i discovered that i actually had something wrong with me on the level of the autistic spectrum anyone with any experience in this please just shed some light really as i feel like im destined to be alone now after all the horror stories…
