HMO ins. co told me I could take my child to PCP (primary care physician) that is not in their network (none in our area). Ins. co said we just pay $10.00 above co-pay.
We went to this doctor many times, ins. paid this dr. each time. We paid the $10.00 each time. This dr. referred my child to go to hospital.
Now ins. is not wanting to pay for this hospital bill cause doctor who referred this is not in their network.
I talked to ins. and they said they should have never paid these dr. bills and that is was their mistake, so I wouldn’t have to pay the hospital bill and that they will.
Now the ins. co is saying they don’t have record of that person telling me that.
And they said they never told me I could use out of network dr. so now they are not paying the hosp bill.
There is a person from ins.. co who is working with hospital. I called ins. co. to talk to this person. Ins. said there is no record of this person corresponding with the hosp..
HELP!!!
question to everyone here- isn’t the ins. co violating their own policy by telling me I CAN go to a dr. out of network, and then they paid for this dr?
Can’t I file an appeal or complaint because of this? It just don’t seem right that they can do this wrong, but then I still have to pay the hosp bill.
TO SCORPIO9, HOSP TOLD ME THAT INS DID PAY, DOES INS HAVE TO SEND ME DOCUMENTATION PROVING THEY DID PAY? I DON’T WANT TO TAKE THEIR WORD FOR IT….

I was notdriving I was in the passenger seat. My stupid cousin was drivin too fast and she hit gravel then the car spun out. Then rolled over a bunch of times then finally hit a cement embankment. Now everyone kept on sayin that I couldn’t go and sew my uncle he’s family it wouldn’t be right. So durin all that i acquired over $500,000 in medical bills and instead of my uncle doing the right thing and just forking some money over he went out and bought a $50.000 car. Never once gave up anything nor offered anything. Not even an apology for his stupid daughters mistake. so when I get out the hospital everyone is still in my ear about not sewing so the insurance company sent me a settlement and me not even being anywhere in the right mind and getting all this input from everyone else accept an lawyer signed it. I have 10 pins and 2 steal rods in my back I cant walk. My life is changed forever. even though i signed the settlement is there anything I can do to get these bills taken care of

Can anything be done about this hospital bill?

Sept. 9, 2001 I went to the emergency room with sever stomach pains. I was told I had IBs, given some pain meds and sent home. September 10, I returned to the E.R. And was sent home again with no answers. September 11, 2001 After witnessing the most horrific event in my lifetime I was taken to the E.R. by a friend to be accused of looking for pain meds. I flipped out and they had to get a new doctor. Finally I was diagnosed with c-diff. A simple check to find out i had been on antibiotic a week prior may have helped. needless to say by this point the infection was so bad I was admitted for 5 days. Now I am stuck with a $5000 hospital bill for something that could have been treated outpatient with antibiotics. I am trying to fix my credit but am having a hard time paying for their mistakes. Should I fight it or should I just make payment arrangements?

My hubsand had a medical bill that was in collections. We disputed it and we got it deleted because it was the hospitals mistake. Okay we just found out last night it got deleted. WIill this help my hubsands score go up and if so how many points?
No we filed a dispute online with all 3 credit reporting agencies then contacted the hospital and they said there was a mistake. We got a email last night from Equifax saying that the results were in and the investagation was over with. We went and looked at it and it said that the credit account had been deleted and we looked up his credit reports and it was gone.
