Is this insurance fraud?
My boyfriends exwife has been using his health care insurance that she had when married…the divorce from two years age says she was to maintain her own insurance…she has since the divorce remarried and still uses his health plan for 136 claims within the last two years…is this fraud on her part??? and if it is what kind of “punishment” would be given if any???THANKS!!!
How can I legally disassociate myself from my father?
This is a follow-up question to my earlier question. I apparently wasn’t clear enough, thus inviting useless answers. I am 22 years old and have not been in contact with my father in about 3 years. In the last 3 years, however, I’ve received numerous calls from creditors contending that I owed thousands of dollars in medical bills plus additional interest. Payment of these bills is legally the responsibility of my father, as I was a minor at the time of illness . I’ve managed to turn the creditors back in his direction. However, I’m again receiving calls from creditors who claim I owe thousands more…but these bills are my father’s own! I want to prevent his leaving his debt to me now and after death, and to ensure that he receives no part of my estate, should something happen to me. A living will has been suggested, as has been filing fraud charges. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Please do not bother to comment on how he’s my father, I can’t change that fact, etc. Thanks!
Ex wife still uses his union health insurance?
Hi! My brother and his ex wife got divorced back in 1999. It was a quick divorce and he now has zero ties to her. He pulled his credit report last month and found that she has been using his Union health insurance for plastic surgery as recent as 2006. There are 4 records on his file that he had me call on to get the patient info and they were all from his exwife. Can he sue her for these? Isnt this insurance fraud and a felony?
Divorce and Health Insurance?
I am finishing off my divorce, have not worked in 8 years, no degreee, need health insurance, i don’t want to ask my lawyer this. If we go through the process of all the divorce proceedings, support splitting assets and agree to that and not sign the final papers so i can stay on his health insurance would that be a bad thing. Or sign the papers and not tell the company we are divorce (i know this is insurance fraud) but he works for a rather large company that really has no process to find this out. Help.
Illegal to submit claim to health insurance that someone else paid for with no intention of reimbursing them?
My ex and I are to split uninsured health care costs 50/50. This means I pay them out of pocket and submit the receipts to him for reimbursement. He hasn’t paid me in 8 months and now I understand he is planning to submit the receipts to his insurance (which I was unaware that he had) to see if they will pay them, even though he has not paid anything out of his pocket.
Is this legal? It would seem that would be fraud.
