LONDON – About Half of American Doctors in a New Survey Say They Regularly Give Patients Placebos, Doesn’t It?

<BR%20/>Tags: New Survey, Placebo, Snake Oil Salesman <BR%20/>wow that has implications of health insurance fraud, deception among others. it is no wonder people have such expensive coverage and why others are turned away or not eligible.
Placebos are not free, but the cost of the medicines that insurance is billed for are not a placebo price, so regardless of what you may want to think about justification, it is fraud and deception, if the placebos are given , NO charge for a visit or meds should be charged. Didn’t we have enough snake oil salesman in the past?

I really don’t have much idea about this can anyone help me out in this matter……….?

even a placebo is a treatment, so it’s not insurance fraud if the patient gets better because they believe the medication worked
The current placebo prescriptions are not necessarily “sugar pills”, many doctors are prescribing antibiotics and even what is the equivalent of over the counter pain killers. It can buy time – either for the patient to improve as he would have anyway or for additinal symptoms or tests to be done for a better diagnosis.
Is it fraud if you actually get better?
u still owe for doc visit
u still owe chemist 4 pills
does not matter if placebo or not
is only illegal if intent to defraud for profit or causes harm
placebo can work and does no harm
The whole thing is amazing.
I just can’t believe it and was stunned when I heard it.
The really upsetting thing is that since doctors don’t know what is wrong, they could be mistreating a problem they cannot find.
It is sad.
