The problem is, I have no healthcare experience. I currently work for a bank in the Risk/Fraud department, where I have been working for 4 years. I know that I want to work on the business side of healthcare, I do not want to deal with patients. The only jobs I can seem to find in the business side of healthcare, are medical coding and billing. Are there any other business related jobs in healthcare besides medical coding and billing?
Oh yeah I have a bachelor’s in Journalism. But I don’t want to do anything related to journalism.

Hospital departments that might be of interest to you:
Finance – Patient Accounting, hospital accounting, controller
With your background in Risk/Fraud, check out positions in Compliance. Many hospitals are beefing up their Compliance Departments with the onslaught of Recovery Audits.
Also…risk management, quality improvement might be an area that you might be able to fit. Or…community services or departments that seek grants for education or other specific programs might be a good fit for you.
Although you don’t want to do anything in journalism, it might be a way in the door. Hospitals haev arketing departments who do newsletters, etc.
You can work for Insurance or Big Health care providers, to do financial, cost and risk analysis. I know a guy with similar background as you, work in Kaiser, make $80K
Good luck with your career.
