How Often Does This Happen With Medi-Cal? How Long Will It Take to Fix?
ckwtime asked:
It seems that my medi-cal is approved in the county system, but when the hospital goes to bill, the state system says I am not elligible. I have talked to so many people and keep getting the run around. I went down there in person and they said they would fix it and give me a call. It’s been 2 days now.

Has this happened to anyone else? Are they quick to fix mistakes like this?
I’m pregnant, and I have submitted all of the paperwork, so I know it’s just a clerical error on their part. I just want to stop stressing about this already.

Hospitals and the government are noted for “taking their time” correcting mistakes. Do don’t let it worry you too much. Your stress can hurt the baby!
I do Medi-Cal billing for BC of CA for a specialty pharmacy. I have access to the blue cross of CA website for it that I can look up eligibility on, if that would help at all. you can email me your ID number, which are numbers followed by one letter, your effective date, your name, DOB…and i think that’s it. maybe if it’s the Medi-cal/Healthy Families thing…i could have someone call them to see what the deal is. I can also print off the benefits your plan has, and your eligibilty info.
let me know if i can help!
btw…no offense, but Medi-cal is a HUGE pain in the A$$ about paying ANYTHING. but with the right collector on the case…they can get it done! HTH.
